The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) today released the evaluation results of its 2022 Green Supply Chain CITI Index and its Corporate Climate Action (CATI) Index. The report indicates that in spite of the global challenges, a number of local and global companies have undertaken the tasks of pollution control and emissions reduction, driving low-carbon transformation in their supply chain and contributing to global climate governance.

In September 2022, IPE publishes Index for Synergic Efforts for Pollution Control and Emissions Reduction. Working with Lvse Jiangnan , IPE also conducted and released report featuring the performance of iron and steel companies listed in China's A-share market.

In order to comprehensively review the current practices of waste incineration plants fulfilling their social responsibilities, Wuhu Ecology Center and IPE conducted an observational study on the environmental information disclosure of 582 waste incineration plants through their official websites and other sources during the period from 2019 to November 2021composed this Observation Report on the Environmental Responsibility of 582 Waste Incineration Plants in China.

In 2022, Tesla CEO's high-profile response related to ESG ratings sparked widespread concern. However, Tesla has once again fell silent in the face of specific questions from environmental groups about pollution issues in its supply chain in China.

October 21, 2021 – IPE released its eighth annual Green Supply Chain CITI evaluation report at the 2021 Green Supply Chain & Climate Action Forum. The report shows that a number of leading local and global brands have made climate and environmental commitments, continuously extended their management to the upstream supply chain, and empowered their suppliers in China to calculate and disclose their emissions, as well as setting targets via innovative technologies.

In April 2021, IPE and Lvse Jiangnan released the report "Tesla: Polluting under a low carbon halo”, revealing many environmental violations of Tesla's suspected suppliers in China. Four months passed, in view of Tesla's silence and avoidance of environmental pollution issues in its supply chain, IPE and Lvse Jiangnan conducted further investigations into its suppliers' environmental performance. Our investigations found more suspected suppliers to Tesla have environmental violations, posing threats to the environment and ecology.
